The Festival

April will see the City of Melbourne host the 2019 ICD Property Light Up Melbourne lantern lights and food festival at Birrarung Marr.

Set along the North Bank of the Yarra River, the ‘Free Entry’ Festival will light up Melbourne with bigger-than-life custom built lanterns, a variety of stalls showcasing Asian culture, traditions and cuisines and a full weekend of entertainment.

Enjoy a diverse range of market stalls, with a variety of speciality food and trader stalls including a 'Little Sichuan' area where the very best Sichuanese cuisine will be on display. 

The Festival displays nine major lantern light installations with a 27m long x 6m high 'Eternal Dragon' as the centre piece. Some other notable displays include:

After a quick bite, you can rest up and enjoy a great variety of cultural performances and entertainment at the main stage or test your skills out and win some prizes at the amusement games. It is an event not to be missed!

to Expect

Being the first of it’s kind in Melbourne, the 2019 ICD Property Light Up Melbourne will be a 4 day long Festival showcasing large scale, custom built lanterns which combines Chinese-folk culture into popular Lantern Lights Festivals and carnival experiences.

The Festival will also have over 80 food stalls, traders, amusement games, not to mention the on stage entertainment program, definitely an event not to be missed!
